New Warehouse and Office Facility, Sterling Heights, Michigan
RB Construction built a pre-engineered structural steel building shell, insulated, pre-finished metal siding, metal roofing, skylights and related structural components for the new White Star headquarters in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The building is composed of 20,000 sf. of open span, covered warehousing, 2,250 sf. of office space, with an additional 2,250 sf. of mezzanine for future growth over the office area.

The prefabricated steel structure features an open span of 125 ft. over the 160 ft. long warehouse and storage area with a double bay truck well and three large grade doors to aid in the delivery and shipment of materials into and out of the facility. The floor of the warehouse is 6 in. thick, reinforced concrete that sits over a 6 in. thick gravel base. The office area houses all company staff, rest rooms, storage closets and break areas. The interior finishes are composed of carpet, tile and seamless acrylic flooring treatments, painted gypsum walls and suspended acoustical ceilings. The building’s exterior is composed of split face masonry up to a height of 8 ft. with pre-finished metal siding above the masonry sill, extending to an eave height of 25 ft. The roof is composed of re-finished metal roofing with matching colored gutters and downspouts.
